Hello, my name is Jimmy Smallwood, the Mayor of Pennington Gap. I would
like to take this time to welcome you to our web site. Pennington Gap was founded in 1890
and incorporated in 1892 with a present population of 1,922 residents. Pennington
Gap’s land size is approximately 1.5 square miles nestled in the mountain ranges of
the Appalachians. If you have not already visited Pennington Gap, I invite you to come and
share what this small community has to offer. I am in hopes that with this web site, one
